STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
It is our belief that the youth development approach of helping all young people achieve their full potential is the most effective way of preventing their involvement in risky behavior. The Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium was founded expressly to promote positive youth development and provide positive alternatives to help them in maximizing their full potential.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium is to motivate children and young people about their holistic development by providing them opportunities to develop their internal assets in commitment to learning; positive values; social competence & positive identity, whilst working with their parents, the community and other agencies to strengthen their external assets in support; empowerment; boundaries & expectations and constructive use of time. (These internal and external assets are those outlined in the Search Institutes List of 40 developmental assets)
VISION STATEMENT
Our vision is to ensure a paradigm shift amongst the youth of the Cayman Islands. In this we hope to see them:-
1) God-fearing and have a recognition of their purpose in life
2) Have value for themselves and others
AND
3) Have a drive for success in all aspects of their development eg. Education
OBJECTIVES
The Consortium aims to facilitate the collaboration of organizations to promote the development of the children and youth of the Cayman Islands, by identifying common themes that each organization member can promote in relation to their own policies and objectives.
The Agency aims to provide developmental programmes, events & functions for youth and technical and administrative support to other youth organizations.
The Society of Youth Professionals aim to promote the quality of services and the training & development of workers in the youth development, by sharing information and supporting each other in the field.
